ChatGPT Usage India: A new report has revealed that India has now become one of the few countries in the world where the use of Artificial Intelligence is increasing rapidly. According to this report by OpenAI, Indian users are now using AI tools extensively to solve complex problems. Especially the popularity of platforms like ChatGPT has brought India among the top 5 countries in terms of AI usage.
AI ecosystem is rapidly strengthening
The AI ecosystem is developing rapidly in India. Reports show that users of AI coding tools like Codex have seen a four-fold increase in just two weeks. India’s performance in coding, data analysis and other technology related areas is also becoming stronger at the global level. It is clear from this that the pace of adoption of new technologies in the country is very fast.
AI access limited to big cities
However, with this progress a big challenge has also emerged. The use of AI in India is still limited to a few big cities. According to the report, the top 10 cities of the country cover almost 50% of AI users, while the population of these cities is less than 10% of the total population.
Delhi NCR is at the forefront of AI use, while cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai are also emerging as major hubs. This simply means that small towns and rural areas are still away from this technology. The use of ChatGPT has also been seen extensively in these cities.
Different trends according to states
The report also revealed that AI is being used for different purposes in different states. People in the eastern states of Assam, Odisha, Manipur and Tripura are using AI for studies and learning. At the same time, more questions related to health and wellness are being asked in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh and Kerala. This shows that where education resources are limited, AI is becoming helpful in studies, and where health facilities are less, people are relying on AI for information.

big difference between cities
A large difference in AI usage has been observed between large and small cities. For example, the use of data analysis is 30 times higher in big cities than in small cities. Similarly, there has been a difference of up to 4 times in coding and up to 9 times in the use of developer tools.
The biggest challenge and opportunity
According to expert Oliver Jay, the biggest challenge is how to take the benefits of AI to every section of the country. For this, three things are necessary: availability in languages, affordable price and strong digital infrastructure. India’s young population and ability to rapidly adopt technology keeps it ahead in this race. If AI is taken to small towns and rural areas, India can become the world leader in this field.
