Shock to Sunrisers Hyderabad, bowler who took more than 300 wickets out of IPL 2026
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fast bowler David Payne has been ruled out of the remaining matches of IPL 2026 due to an ankle injury. The franchise has given its official information on Thursday (April 16). However, no information has been given regarding inclusion of anyone else in the team in his place.
Penn played two matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the current season, in which he took 2 wickets in one match and could not open the account in the second match. Let us tell you that Penn’s record in T-20 cricket is excellent and he has 306 wickets in his name in 231 innings.
Paine was included in the team by Hyderabad in place of Australian fast bowler Jack Edwards who was out due to injury.
A few days ago, Sunrisers Hyderabad also lost England all-rounder Brayden Carse due to a hand injury. Kars suffered the injury during a net session at the start of the 2026 season and has not been able to play a single match for SRH. In his place, the team included Sri Lankan fast bowler Dilshan Madushanka.
However, the good news for Sunrisers is that Pat Cummins has got the green signal to join the team in the IPL after the scan in Sydney. Cummins has not played a single match in the current season and he can make a comeback in the match against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur on 25 April.
In the absence of Cummins, Sunrisers Hyderabad has been captained by Ishan Kishan and the team is currently at fourth position in the points table. They have won two from five matches and are tied on four points with four other teams, but are ahead of them on net run rate. Sunrisers will play their next match against Chennai Super Kings on Saturday in Hyderabad.
