Giving a guarantee, Modi said, there will be no change in the ratio of the governments that were there in the past and the delimitation that was done during their period and the ratio that has been going on since that time and the growth will also be in the same ratio. The Prime Minister said, if the word guarantee is required then I use the word guarantee, if I talk about promise then I promise, if there is a good word in Tamil then I am ready to use that also because when the intention is clear then we do not need to play with words.

Let us tell you that there is a provision in the new Delimitation Bill 2026 that now it will not be necessary to do demarcation after every census. This means that after the bill is passed, Parliament will decide when the delimitation will happen and which census data will be used. The opposition is opposing this bill regarding this. Opposition-led South Indian states fear that their Lok Sabha seats may be reduced if delimitation is done on the basis of the new census. Congress leader KC Venugopal, SP President Akhilesh Yadav, DMK leader TR Baalu have opposed the delimitation bill in Parliament. On the other hand, in Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister Stalin had protested by burning copies of this bill.
