33% Reservation for Women a Historic Step Towards Strengthening Democracy; BJP Committed to Equal Rights: Kainth
Chandigarh, April 16, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Paramjit Singh Kainth, Vice President of the BJP Scheduled Castes Morcha Punjab, stated today that Punjab is currently passing through a crucial phase of social justice, economic revival, and inclusive development. At such a time, the welfare-oriented policies of the Central Government are opening new avenues of opportunity for the state.
Welcoming the “Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam 2026”, he described the provision of 33 percent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha as a historic step towards strengthening Indian democracy. He noted that the measure would ensure greater political participation of women and provide them with equitable representation in policy-making.
Kainth said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several concrete and result-oriented initiatives have been undertaken for the empowerment of Scheduled Castes, farmers, youth, and women. These policies are reaching the marginalized and underprivileged sections in Punjab, resulting in visible socio-economic improvements.
He further emphasized that the BJP continues to draw inspiration from the constitutional vision of Dr. BR Ambedkar, working consistently to reduce social and economic inequalities. Through targeted welfare schemes, educational initiatives, and economic empowerment programs, significant progress has been achieved in improving the conditions of Scheduled Castes across the country.
Highlighting Punjab’s demographic context, he noted that in a state where Scheduled Castes constitute a significant proportion of the population, such targeted interventions assume even greater importance. Central government schemes are not only creating opportunities but are also enabling self-reliance and dignified livelihoods.
Referring to the state’s current challenges—such as unemployment, drug abuse, and economic stagnation—Kainth stressed the need for visionary policy-making, strong political will, and transparent governance, which, he said, the Central Government has consistently demonstrated.
He urged BJP workers to intensify outreach efforts across villages and urban areas in Punjab and ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach every section of society, particularly the Scheduled Caste community.
Kainth reaffirmed that the BJP Scheduled Castes Morcha will continue to work towards social harmony, equal opportunity, and just development in Punjab, and remains committed to empowering every section of society.
He appealed to the people of Punjab, especially youth and women, to actively participate in this journey of development and contribute towards building a prosperous, secure, and progressive Punjab.
