‘Black ego swallows…’, Kanimozhi cornered PM on ‘Kala Tika’
On the second day of the special session of Parliament, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi has given a sharp reply to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Kala Tika’ taunt. On Thursday, on DMK MPs wearing black clothes, PM Modi had said that DMK MPs were putting ‘black mark’ on the bills so that the evil eye does not appear.
Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kanimozhi said in Parliament that black color is the color of Mother Kali. Kali is a powerful goddess who removes ego, pride and ignorance. He also cornered the government on the issue of Hindutva.

I am surprised that the people here, who consider themselves the protectors of Hindutva, remembered Kali. Of that goddess, of that dark-skinned goddess who wears black clothes. That women power. The woman who drives away ego, arrogance and ignorance.
What did Kanimozhi say on black color?
Kanimozhi said, ‘The color we have chosen for protest is also the color of Periyar. Of our intellectual leader. He taught us self-respect. Taught to never bow down. He taught us to fight till the end and we will fight.
What is DMK’s stand on women’s reservation?
“A new bill should be introduced and kept in the public domain for at least three months for extensive discussion,” Kanimozhi said. If the Constitution is to be maintained as a document of trust, amendments must be guided by principles. Principles should be based on fairness, restraint and honesty.

What is the black vaccine controversy?

DMK MPs came to Parliament wearing black clothes to protest against the laws related to calling a special session of Parliament and delimitation. He did this to express his protest. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that DMK MPs are putting black mark on all three bills, which will protect them from evil eyes. Now Kanimozhi has given the answer to this.

What is DMK’s objection to?
DMK says that delimitations are being imposed in the name of women’s reservation, which will harm South India the most. The government is claiming to reserve one-third seats for women through delimitation. They say that this will weaken their voice in Parliament due to population control. Northern states may get more seats.
