Will MS Dhoni Feature in SRH vs CSK Clash in IPL 2026?

The Chennai Super Kings are set to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2026 season, and fans are eagerly waiting for the return of MS Dhoni to action.

MS Dhoni was recently seen batting in the nets, striking the ball, and even clearing the ropes with ease. The franchise has shared a video on Instagram showing him in good touch, which only increased excitement among fans.

MS Dhoni has been recovering from a calf strain and is not expected to feature against SRH. Although the initial two-week recovery period has ended, the team is taking a cautious approach.

However, sources have indicated that his rehab is progressing well, and he could be back either for the clash against Mumbai Indians on April 23 at Wankhede Stadium.

MS Dhoni has been picked in the injury during a practice session just before the start of the IPL, which ruled him out of the opening weeks.

“He is still doing his rehab and we don’t want to take any chances with his fitness,” said a CSK source.

MS Dhoni has remained one of the consistent performers. Across 278 IPL games, he scored 5439 runs in 242 innings at an average of 38.30 and a strike rate of 137.45, including 24 fifties and highest score of 84*. He is currently the sixth highest run getter in the IPL history.

Despite finishing in the bottom of the points table last year, MS Dhoni managed to score 196 runs in 13 innings at an average of 24.50 and a strike rate of 135.

Coming to this season, Chennai Super Kings has secured two wins out of five games and secured 8th position in the IPL 2026 points table.

Despite a major boost in CSK’s campaign with back to back wins, they have hit with another injury concern. Khaleel Ahmed has been ruled out of the IPL 2026 due to injury whom the side has been heavily dependent with the new ball.

It will be interesting to see CSK’s combinations for the upcoming clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
