Tehran refuses to transfer enriched uranium, saying it is as sacred to us as Iranian soil.
Desk. Defying the claims of US President Donald Trump, Iran has categorically refused to transfer its enriched uranium anywhere and to anyone. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghi, while completely rejecting the recent claims of Donald Trump, said, “Enriched uranium is as sacred to us as the soil of Iran and under no circumstances will it be transferred anywhere.”
Iran has categorically denied ever giving its uranium to any third country. This statement from Iran’s Foreign Ministry came in response to Trump’s claim that Iran had agreed to hand over its enriched uranium stock to the US or any third country. The Iranian spokesperson called this “completely false and untrue.” He stressed that enriched uranium is a symbol of Iran’s sovereignty and national dignity, which can never be surrendered under any external pressure.
Baghai further stated that such reports being spread by the Trump administration are part of psychological warfare and a media campaign aimed at pressuring Iran and impacting ongoing negotiations. He clarified that Iran will never compromise on its rights to its nuclear program. Peaceful uranium enrichment is Iran’s legitimate right, protected under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). This statement comes at a time when the US-Iran ceasefire is in a fragile state.
Trump recently issued a new threat to Iran, saying that if a permanent agreement is not reached, there is little chance of extending the ceasefire and the blockade will continue. Earlier, Iran had announced the opening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial ships, but later warned that the situation could change if the US blockade continues. Iranian officials have consistently insisted that any agreement is possible only by taking into account Iran’s national security, nuclear rights, and territorial sovereignty. Therefore, Iran has again blocked the Strait of Hormuz while the blockade continues.
Baghai said that the claims being made by the US are far from reality. Iran is absolutely determined to protect both its soil and its enriched uranium. This statement reflects Iran’s diplomatic strength. Tehran is sending a clear message that it will not make any concessions, even if the US increases the blockade and military pressure. Analysts believe that this statement underlines Iran’s strong position in the upcoming talks. Iran has repeatedly reiterated that enriched uranium is a matter of national pride, considered as sacred as its soil.
