Good news for central employees: Government increased dearness allowance, DA increased to 60%
New Delhi. The central government has given big relief to central employees and pensioners. According to media reports, the Union Cabinet has approved a 2 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA). After this decision, DA has now increased from 58 percent to 60 percent. This decision is expected to directly benefit about 50 lakh central employees and 65 lakh pensioners across the country.
Relief decision amid rising inflation
This increase was already considered probable considering the inflation rate and the average of the last 12 months of AICPI-IW (All India Consumer Price Index – Industrial Workers). Now with this decision of the government, there is a possibility of some relief in the monthly income of the employees, which will improve their purchasing power.
More than one crore people benefited
The benefit of this increase will not be limited only to the current employees, but pensioners will also get the benefit. Overall, this decision can have a positive impact on the lives of more than one crore people. This step is being seen as an employee friendly policy of the government.
