Rituraj Gaikwad was seen praising the one who defeated him, said – ‘The credit goes to him…’

Ruturaj Gaikwad Statement After Fourth Loss in IPL 2026: The journey of IPL 2026 so far has been full of ups and downs for Chennai Super Kings. CSK suffered a 10-run defeat at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad, which was SRH’s fourth defeat this season. However, after the match was over, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was seen praising the players of the opposition team. Let us know what the CSK captain said…

Rituraj Gaikwad gave credit to SRH

While chasing the target of 195 runs given by Sunrisers Hyderabad, the team of Sunrisers Hyderabad could score only 184 runs. Whereas there came a time in the match when the match started tilting towards Chennai Super Kings. But, CSK could not create pressure and lost the match.

At one point, the required run rate had dropped to 8 and you had about 6 wickets left. On this, Rituraj Gaikwad said in the post match presentation, “Yes, as you rightly said, around 80 runs were needed in 10 overs and from there I think it was down to building some partnerships and making sure the opposition was out of the game and under pressure. But I think the next few overs after that really changed the momentum.”

Gaikwad further said, “We only scored 4 runs in the next 2 overs after the 10 overs were completed. So I think that really helped them, and obviously, we knew that once we get into the death overs, it becomes difficult to chase 12 or 13 runs per over, so credit to them, they bowled very well in the last overs.”

Ruturaj Gaikwad praised his bowlers

Chennai Super Kings faced consecutive defeats in the first 3 matches, but then they made a comeback and won 2 back to back matches. But, CSK’s car again seemed to go off the track and faced defeat at the hands of Hyderabad.

What has worked in the last few matches? On this question Rituraj Gaikwad said, “I think the bowling unit has been performing very well for three consecutive matches. Even today, everyone performed well after the powerplay. Even in the powerplay, I thought Abhishek batted brilliantly. He faced the bowlers bravely.”

“We didn’t give away any loose balls, just played very good cricket. Hats off to them for that. But even then, once we got that rhythm, I think we made the most of it and everyone contributed… Jamie (Overton), Gurjapaneet (Singh), Noor (Ahmed) and finally Anshul (Kamboj). I think everyone did a good job.”

Lots of praise for Anshul Kamboj

Even though IPL 2026 has not been anything special for Chennai Super Kings so far. But, the team’s young fast bowler Anshul Kamboj has impressed a lot. After taking 3 wickets in the match played with Hyderabad, he won the Purple Cap.

Praising Anshul Kamboj, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad said, “He has been working hard on his bowling, especially the death overs. I think very rarely do you get bowlers who are really clear and say to the captain, OK, I will take over, I know what to do. These are my plans. So I think I am very happy to have him in my team. As you said, he is performing very well. He is getting better day by day.”
