President Trump said- American delegation will reach Pakistan on Monday for the second round of talks with Iran.
Washington, 19 April. US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the US delegation will reach Pakistan on Monday for a round of talks with Iran. It is noteworthy that the first round of talks between the two countries during the two-week ceasefire agreement remained inconclusive on Sunday.
Trump gave this information in a post on the social media platform Truth Social. However, he did not clarify which officials would be included in the US delegation in the second round of talks with Iran in Islamabad. The White House and the office of US Vice President JD Vance, who led the first round of talks, did not immediately respond to messages on the matter on Sunday morning.
Also threatened to destroy civilian infrastructure
In his post, Trump accused Iran of violating the ceasefire agreement by firing in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday and threatened to destroy civilian infrastructure in Iran if Iran does not accept the deal proposed by the US. Trump said, ‘If they do not do this, America will destroy every power plant and every bridge in Iran.’
Earlier, after the first round of inconclusive talks between the two countries, President Donald Trump had said that the bombing and attack campaign on Iran has been stopped. He also said that Iran’s 10 point proposal is workable. Iran had also agreed to stop military operations for two weeks and provide safe passage from Hormuz after accepting America’s 10 point proposal. But due to the continuing US blockade, Iran reversed its decision within 24 hours and closed the Strait of Hormuz again.
Pakistan is playing the role of mediator between the two countries
The noteworthy fact is that Pakistan is playing the role of mediator on this entire matter. Pak Field Marshal Asim Munir recently visited Iran. During this, he stressed on finding a solution through peace and dialogue.
