IPL: KKR won after 6 matches, defeated RR

With the brilliant partnership of Rinku Singh and Anukul Roy, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have registered their first win after 6 matches in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. This team defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 4 wickets in the match played at Eden Gardens on Sunday.

After losing the first two matches this season, KKR’s match against Punjab Kings remained inconclusive due to rain. After this the team lost 3 consecutive matches. After the victory, KKR has reached 9th position in the points table. On the other hand, after scoring four wins, RR has suffered its second consecutive defeat. After losing this match, Royals are in third place.

Rajasthan Royals, who came to bat after winning the toss, could score only 155 runs after losing 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. The opening pair of Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal gave a great start to this team. Both players scored 81 runs in 8.4 overs.

Vaibhav was out after scoring 46 runs in 28 balls with 2 sixes and 6 fours, after which the team kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Meanwhile, Jaiswal returned to the pavilion after scoring 39 runs in 29 balls with 6 boundaries. Apart from these, Shimron Hetmyer contributed 15 runs, while captain Ryan Parag contributed 12 runs to the team’s account. From the opposition camp, Karthik Tyagi and Varun Chakraborty took 3 wickets each, while 2 wickets were in the name of Sunil Narine.

In response, Kolkata Knight Riders won in 19.4 overs. KKR had a very bad start. After losing the wicket of Tim Seifert (0) on the very first ball of the innings, this team also lost the wicket of captain Ajinkya Rahane (0) in the next over. The team had lost the wickets of both the openers till the score was just 5, after which Cameron Green took charge.

Green played an inning of 27 runs in 13 balls, while Rovman Powell contributed 23 runs to the team’s account. KKR had lost 6 wickets till the score of 85, after which Rinku Singh made an unbroken partnership of 76 runs in 37 balls with Anukul Royal, giving the team a thrilling victory.

Rinku remained unbeaten on 53 runs in 34 balls with 2 sixes and 5 fours. Roy played an unbeaten inning of 29 runs in 16 balls with 3 boundaries. Ravindra Jadeja took 2 wickets from the opposition camp. Joffra Archer, Nandre Berger, Ravi Bishnoi and Yash Raj took 1 wicket each.
