Women Reservation Bill : Modi has no moral right to stay in power…; Politics ignited due to the rejection of the bill

Women Reservation Bill: New Delhi: Akhilesh Yadav strongly attacked the Central Government and BJP over the Women’s Reservation Bill. As the bill failed to pass in the Lok Sabha, he called it a ‘historic day’ and said the government no longer had the moral right to remain in power.

The SP chief alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wanted to make a political slogan instead of implementing a serious issue like women’s reservation. Akhilesh Yadav has questioned the BJP’s strategy and said that the party is working on the ‘CMF formula’ of ‘Create, Mislead and Fear’.

Attempt to distract

Akhilesh Yadav also said that the Women’s Reservation Bill is an attempt to divert attention from the real issues. According to him, the bill was a “black document of BJP’s evil intentions”, which the opposition parties unitedly prevented from passing.

Akhilesh Yadav clarified that the Samajwadi Party is not against women’s reservation, but the way it was introduced along with other provisions like delimitation of constituencies. He said that women deserve respect and proper representation, but this requires a fair and transparent process.

Reiteration of demand for caste enumeration

He reiterated his demand for caste enumeration and said that the process should be completed first, so that the true picture of reservation can come out and justice can be given to all sections of the society. He alleged that the BJP was deliberately avoiding caste enumeration as it would strengthen the demand for reservation.

Akhilesh Yadav said, “The country needs not only reservation, but also ‘protection’ to ensure protection of the rights of every section of the society. He believes that if the bill had been introduced after the census, all parties might have supported it.” He has said that.
