1 – Players left PSL and chose IPL

A big controversy came to light in the very beginning of Pakistan Super League when many players from all over the world chose to leave Pakistan Super League (PSL) and play in Indian Premier League (IPL). After being bought in PSL, the players withdrew from the tournament due to personal reasons and joined different teams in IPL.

The first name in this list was that of Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani. After him, Dasun Shanaka, Spencer Johnson and Gudakesh Moti have also left PSL and chosen IPL.

2 – Color of ball changed in PSL match

Changing the color of the ball was one of the biggest controversies in the first match of Pakistan Super League 2026. In the match played between Lahore Qalandars and Hyderabad Kingsmen, the color of the jersey came off on the ball in the very second over of the start. After this the ball changed from white to red. Ball tampering incident took place in Pakistan Super League. Pakistan’s experienced cricketer Fakhar Zaman along with Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf carried out the ball tampering incident. This incident was found to be true and after that Fakhar Zaman was banned from PSL for 2 matches. Pakistan was greatly insulted by this incident.

4 – Player’s indecent comment on the Chief Minister

Pakistan’s fast bowler Naseem Shah had made indecent and derogatory comments on Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who came as the chief guest, on social media. Commenting on the post, he wrote, why is she being given treatment like the Queen of Lords? Due to this, Naseem Shah had to face a fine of Rs 2 crore and he was also asked to remove the post and apologize.

5 – Player banned from PSL

Pakistan took legal action against Blessing Muzarabani for leaving Pakistan Super League and playing IPL and banned him for 2 years from playing in PSL. On this, Muzarabani claimed on Pakistan and said that when I did not even sign the contract, then how could I be banned. I have not been given the contract. This controversy is also tarnishing the image of PSL.
