Nashik BPO case: Victim alleges harassment, attempts were made to suppress her by saying “leave the matter”

A new victim has come forward in a case of alleged sexual harassment and forced religious conversion linked to a TCS-affiliated BPO in Nashik, Maharashtra. The fourth female employee has alleged that despite her repeated complaints, neither concrete action was taken nor she was given security, but senior company officials advised her to leave the matter.

According to the victim, she had made several verbal complaints against Raza Memon, accused in the forced conversion case, but every time her complaints were ignored. She alleged that when she escalated the matter to higher authorities, HR and operational manager Ashwini Chainani told her, “Why do you want to be in the news? Let it go, leave the matter.”

The victim said that during her induction training in May 2023, Raza Memon approached her and tried to start a personal conversation. He allegedly asked her to answer riddles on Microsoft Teams and also said that this should remain between us.

Initially she found this behavior unusual, but because she was a new employee she did not complain. Over time, she alleged that Memon’s behavior became more aggressive, he would stalk her, force conversations and try to make unwanted physical contact.

According to the victim, when she complained to her quality/training manager in June 2023, she was told that the accused’s behavior had been “suspicious” in the past, and she was advised to never be alone. The team leader also gave similar advice, but no concrete action was taken against the accused.

The victim also alleged that after complaining, the accused started spreading rumors against her and said false things about her personal life. She also claimed that the harassment continued with her even after marriage and the accused made objectionable comments about her personal life. When she sought leave to travel with her husband in February 2026, the accused allegedly asked inappropriate questions, such as whether she was going on a honeymoon and whether she drank alcohol.

The victim also alleged retaliatory activities at the workplace. According to him, the accused and his associates increased his call load abnormally by changing the system settings, thereby causing mental distress to him. The victim also mentioned an incident on March 19, Gudi Padwa, in which another colleague is accused of making objectionable remarks and pressurizing her to walk out.

As no action was taken despite repeated complaints, the victim has now filed a formal legal complaint against Raza Memon, Shahrukh and Ashwini Chainani. The matter is now under investigation and further action is being taken by the authorities.
