According to media reports, BCCI will start the experiment from the T20 series against Ireland starting in June. Due to the overlap of the Asian Games and the West Indies series, the board is preparing a large pool of 30 to 35 players.

Many new faces who have performed well in IPL 2026 can be included in this pool. A big team will be sent on the Ireland tour, in which many players can debut.

Shreyas Iyer may get captaincy

The biggest news in the report is that Shreyas Iyer can be made the captain of the T20 team for the Ireland tour. Shreyas Iyer has proved his ability as captain in IPL. He is the only captain to reach the IPL final with three different franchises.

This season, he created history by keeping Punjab Kings undefeated in the first six matches. Both his captaincy and batting have been impressive.

New players will get a chance to debut

Based on the excellent performance of IPL 2026, many young players can make a place in Team India. These include the names of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Priyansh Arya, Anukul Roy, Shashank Singh and Angkrish Raghuvanshi.
