The tournament title was won by Matt Fitzpatrick of England, who defeated world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in a playoff. Both the players remained on the same score of 18-under, after which the match reached the playoff. At the crucial moment, Fitzpatrick hit a spectacular 4-iron shot from 204 yards that landed just short of the pin, giving him a chance for birdie. He won the match with an accurate putt.

It was Fitzpatrick’s fourth international win on the PGA Tour and his 13th overall. With this win he reached his career-high third position in the world rankings. This is his second major win in the last one month, having previously won the Valspar Championship. With his consistently good performance, he also won prize money worth crores.

Scheffler’s strong comeback
