5 New Cars Launching In May: Brezza Facelift to Sierra EV
The upcoming month of May will not only be hot in terms of temperature but also in terms of new car launches as well. We will be seeing 5 new car launches in May across different segments including ICE and EV. Now, if you are interested in knowing which new cars will be making their way into the market next month then make sure to read till the end.
Starting off the list is the Tata Sierra.ev which is one of the most anticipated electric SUVs in the country. The EV version of the already popular Sierra is to make its debut next month in the middle and deliveries will commence soon after that. Once launched, the Sierra.ev is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 20 lakh to Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Sierra.ev will be based on Tata’s Acti.ev platform and will be positioned between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV. It will rival models like the Mahindra BE 6 and Hyundai Creta Electric. Tata Motors is expected to offer the Sierra.ev with two battery pack options of 55 kWh and 65 kWh battery packs.
There are some reports which have suggested that it could also get a larger 75 kWh unit. The expected real-world range is likely to be around 450 to 550 km in a single full charge. As for the performance, the higher spec variants are expected to get a dual-motor AWD setup, while lower trims will remain front-wheel drive.
It will also offer terrain modes and high ground clearance for light off-roading. On the inside, the Sierra.ev will be loaded with features including the same triple-screen layout, 12-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, HUD, 360-degree camera and connected car tech.

Next on the list is the Tata Safari.ev, which will become the brand’s flagship electric SUV. This 7-seater electric SUV is expected to make its debut by the middle of May. The exact launch date will be confirmed in the coming days. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 22.5 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
This 3-row electric SUV will be based on the Acti.ev+ platform. It will be the same platform as the already launched Harrier.ev. It will be offered in both 6 and 7-seater configurations. Powertrain options are expected to include 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs and the maximum range will be around 500-550 km.
Like the Harrier.ev, the top-of-the-line variants will feature a dual-motor AWD setup and will be capable of doing a sprint of 0 to 100 kmph in around 8 seconds. It will also get multiple terrain modes and standout features such as V2L and V2V charging. Other features will remain the same as the Harrier.ev..

Volkswagen India recently launched the facelifted Taigun facelift and now the company is gearing up to the launch of the Virtus facelift in India. This enthusiast favorite sedan is expected to arrive in India by mid to end of May. At the moment, the official launch date is yet to be confirmed.
The updated model is expected to be priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom). On the outside, the facelift will be seen with sleeker LED headlamps, a connected light bar, illuminated logo, redesigned bumpers and new alloy wheels. The rear will also feature connected LED tail lamps and a revised bumper design.
Inside the cabin, the Virtus facelift is expected to get a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and updated upholstery and additional features. It could also get a panoramic sunroof as well. Mechanically, it will continue to offer the same 1.0-litre TSI that produces 115 PS and 178 Nm, but will now get a new 8-speed automatic gearbox replacing the older unit. The 1.5-litre TSI will continue with 150 PS and 250 Nm, paired with only the 7-speed DSG gearbox.

Like its cousin Virtus, the Skoda Slavia is also set to get a new update next month. The Slavia facelift will be offered with subtle exterior updates, including a redesigned front bumper, updated LED headlamps and minor grille revisions. We can expect a set of new alloy wheels and slight rear tweaks as well.
On the inside, the Slavia is expected to retain the same layout but could get a bigger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, updated infotainment system and new interior trims. Feature additions could include a rear seat massager, ambient lighting and some more features. Powertrain specs will remain the same as the Virtus facelift. Pricing will be around Rs 11 to Rs 19 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the facelifted iteration of its popular sub-compact SUV Brezza next month. The main highlight of the upcoming Brezza is expected to be the same 1.0L Boosterjet turbo petrol engine seen in the Fronx. This motor makes around 100 bhp and 147 Nm and a new 6-speed manual gearbox is also expected.
Additionally the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine will also be offered. There are reports that it could also get an underbody-mounted CNG tank as well. In terms of design, the changes will be subtle. The SUVis expected to get a revised grille with chrome elements, updated bumpers and minor tweaks to DRLs along with new alloy wheels.
On the inside, the Brezza facelift is expected to get a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen, updated dashboard design and new upholstery. Feature additions may also include a 360-degree camera and ventilated seats. Pricing will be around Rs 9 to Rs 15 lakh.
