Nashik TCS case: Nida Khan did not get relief from the court, interim protection petition rejected

Nida Khan, accused in the famous TCS case in Nashik, has not got any relief from the court at present. While rejecting his plea for interim protection, the court made it clear that he cannot be given temporary protection at this stage. In fact, the anticipatory bail plea filed by Khan is still pending and his legal team had requested that he be granted interim relief till the final decision comes, but the court did not accept it.

Demand for additional time to file reply

During the hearing, the complainant’s lawyer asked for additional time from the court to file a written reply. Approving this demand, the court has given time till April 27 to file the reply. Now the next hearing in this case is likely to be held on this date, where the further legal process will be decided.

During the arguments in the courtroom, Khan’s lawyer raised the issue of her pregnancy and called it an important ground for granting interim relief. He said that considering the current circumstances, a humanitarian approach should be adopted. However, the prosecution strongly opposed this argument and said that considering the seriousness of the case, it would not be appropriate to give any kind of relief.

The prosecution also presented some photographs during the hearing, which were said to be related to the BPO picnic and trip. Through these pictures he tried to indicate that some important facts have come to light in the investigation of the allegations. At the same time, the defense side argued that these evidences do not confirm the allegations and no concrete evidence has been presented so far.

What does the defense say?

The implementation of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SC-ST) Act in this matter also remains a matter of major controversy. The defense says that there is not enough evidence to prove the allegations made under this law. At the same time, advocate Rahul Kasliwal, appearing on behalf of Khan, said that the anticipatory bail hearing may take time, hence he had earlier sought interim protection.

On the other hand, the police claims that Nida Khan has played an important role in this entire case. According to a senior officer, considering the seriousness of the allegations, getting anticipatory bail will not be easy. Police also said that there could be more victims in the case, but many people are not coming forward due to fear or social pressure.
