Causes and health effects of farting
importance of farting

Farting is a natural function of our body. Although it may sometimes make us feel uncomfortable, it is extremely essential for health. The process of farting prevents many health problems. If the gas does not leave the body, it can cause serious health problems.
Gas formation and its odor
Let us understand how gas is formed in our body and what is the reason for its bad smell. Some gases are already in our stomach, while other gases are produced during the digestion of food. Some gases also enter the stomach through breath. About 70 to 75% of gases are formed in our large intestine. There are different types of bacteria in our body.
When we eat food, some remains remain, which these bacteria digest. Just as we pass stool after meals, these bacteria also form stool. This stool contains hydrogen sulphide gas, which is extremely foul smelling and comes out in the form of farts. Normally, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide and methane gases are found in our large intestine, but hydrogen sulphide gas produced by bacteria is the main cause of bad smell.
