Blackpink’s Jisoo denies link to brother’s alleged crime
According to Korea JoongAng Dailya statement released Monday through Jisoo’s self-founded agency Blissoo rejected claims linking the artist to the incident and emphasized that both Jisoo and her company are entirely uninvolved.
“Neither the artist nor Blissoo has any connection with the issue currently being raised,” read the statement. “Much of the information circulating online is either unverified speculation or outright false.”

The controversy began earlier this month when reports emerged that a family member of a “famous girl group member” had been arrested on charges of sexually harassing an online streamer, according to The Korea Times. Although police sought a detention warrant, prosecutors declined the request.
Subsequent online speculation identified the individual as Jisoo’s brother, prompting questions about whether the singer had prior knowledge of the alleged incident or any involvement. Some posts also claimed that her brother co-founded Blissoo or holds an executive role.
In its Monday statement, Blissoo said those claims are “entirely false.” The agency clarified that while Jisoo’s family members provided limited logistical assistance during the company’s early setup, such as facilitating communication, no relatives have participated in management or decision-making.
“Since its establishment, the company has been operated entirely independently, with no involvement from the artist’s family,” the statement said.
The agency also stressed that Jisoo has long lived separately from her family, having entered the entertainment industry at a young age and spent years training and working independently.
Blissoo further confirmed that neither the company nor Jisoo has had any contact with the individual in question and is not providing any financial or legal support.
The agency warned it would take a strict stance against the spread of misinformation.
“We make it clear that we will take strong legal action against those who maliciously or repeatedly create or spread such content, without any leniency or settlement,” the statement said.
Born Kim Jisoo, the 31-year-old singer debuted with Blackpink in 2016 and launched her solo music career in early 2023.
