Haj pilgrimage has special importance in the religion of Islam, that is why crores of people go on Haj pilgrimage every year. Thousands of people from India have also left for Haj pilgrimage since April 18. People should follow 7 rules during Hajj pilgrimage because it is said that if these rules are not followed, the journey is considered incomplete.

 

During the Hajj pilgrimage, people go to the city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia and visit the most sacred site, the Kaaba. According to religious experts, earlier only married people used to go on Hajj pilgrimage with their partner, but in the last few years, women are going on Hajj pilgrimage even without their husbands. According to Islamic belief, those who are financially, mentally and physically capable should travel for Hajj. What are the 7 rules of Hajj pilgrimage?

Muslims all over the world follow certain rules during the Hajj pilgrimage. These rules explain how Hajj should be performed. Let us understand each rule and their meaning.

1. Ihram -Every person during Haj pilgrimage should wear unstitched, white cloth from head to toe. In Islam, after wearing Ihram, a person should not do things like lying, stealing, harassing anyone. It is believed that after wearing Ihram a person becomes pure.

2. Spend the night in Meena – People must stay in Mina, Saudi Arabia during Hajj pilgrimage. After spending the night here, Allah is worshiped and prayers are sought.

3. Apologizing on Arafat –Arafat is a mountain in Saudi Arabia, which is about 14 kilometers away from Mina. After reaching here everyone asks Allah for their bad deeds.

Apologize. It is believed that by praying in Arafat a person becomes free from his sins.

4. Collecting pebbles – After Arafat, people reach Muzdalifah and spend the night there. According to tradition, all the pilgrims here collect pebbles to symbolically kill the devil.

5. Stone the devil – After collecting pebbles, people go back to Mina, where pebbles are thrown on the largest pillar of the three pillars of Jamarat. Through this process people symbolize victory over evil.

6. Sacrifice – Animals are sacrificed during Hajj pilgrimage. Apart from this, men shave or cut their hair short, which is considered a symbol of sacrifice and dedication.

7. Circling the Kaaba – The last stop of the Haj pilgrimage is to circumambulate the Kaaba. In this everyone takes 7 rounds of Kaaba, which is called Tawaf. It is a symbol of complete submission and unity towards Allah.
