In this direction, many schemes are being implemented effectively, due to which the affected workers are not only getting freedom but also trying to make them economically and socially strong again.
Rehabilitation system through financial assistance
The government makes a provision of about Rs 25 crore every year in its budget for the rehabilitation of bonded labour. This amount is later reimbursed by the Ministry of Labor and Employment of the Central Government. Under the scheme, workers are given different financial assistance depending on their status and level of exploitation.
1 .Assistance up to Rs 1 lakh is provided to general male workers.
2 .Women, children and workers who have been freed from forced begging or other exploitative situations get assistance up to Rs 2 lakh.
3.Financial assistance up to Rs 3 lakh is given to children, women and transgender persons rescued from serious crimes like sexual exploitation, human trafficking or prostitution.
Monitoring and Administrative Framework
To make this entire program effective, a strong monitoring mechanism has been prepared in the state. District level vigilance committees have been constituted in all 75 districts. These committees monitor the identification, investigation and rehabilitation process of such cases from time to time. Apart from this, regular reconstitution of these committees is also done so that the system remains active and effective.
government’s goal
The goal of the Labor Department is not only to free the workers, but also to make them financially self-reliant. For this, continuous improvements are being made towards making rehabilitation schemes more fast, transparent and effective. The effort of the government is to completely free the state from the evil practice like bonded labor and every affected person can get a respectable life.
