Condoms are expensive in the Hormuz crisis! Big announcement from the world’s largest insulation maker
The CEO of the world’s largest condom manufacturer, Carex, has announced that if the Hormuz crisis continues, they will be forced to raise the prices of their products. Condoms of this Malaysia-based company are very popular all over the world. But the current situation in West Asia is disrupting the supply of key raw materials for making condoms. As a result, the problem is increasing. If this situation continues, the company will be forced to increase the price of condoms.
Goh Mia Kiat, head of the company, says that their company produces 500 million condoms every year. But the cost of production has increased dramatically since the conflict began. So this time they are going to increase the price of the product by 30 percent.

It is known that one-fifth of the world’s oil and natural gas is supplied through Hormuz. Along with it are other petrochemicals. Ammonia, a silicone-based lubricant, lacks latex, making companies such as Carex breathe a sigh of relief. However, the demand for condoms is also increasing at this time. Because uncertainty about the future is increasing. “Having a child these days means having to arrange another abortion, which has become difficult in these circumstances,” says Goh Mia Kiat.
Condom manufacturers in India are also in trouble like Carex. The government condom manufacturer HLL Lifecare Limited is on the list. The company manufactures 221 crore condoms every year. Companies like Mankind Pharma, Cupid Limited are also in trouble.
Meanwhile, continued Iranian aggression in the Strait of Hormuz! The two ships were seized by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. One of them was going to India. The two ships are currently being towed to Tehran. All in all, the situation in the Middle East is getting more complicated as time goes by. And it’s affecting everything from cooking gas to condoms.
