Top Nifty 50 losers today: HCL Technologies tumbles 10.7%, Infosys down 3.4%
Indian equity markets ended lower on April 22, with benchmark indices witnessing selling pressure across sectors. The Nifty 50 closed at 24,378.10, down 198.50 points or 0.81%, while broader weakness was also seen across IT, financials, and select auto stocks.
Among the top laggards, IT stocks dominated the losers’ list, alongside key names from auto, banking, and healthcare.
Top Nifty 50 Losers (April 22):
HCL Technologies emerged as the biggest loser of the day, falling 10.7% to close at ₹1,286.40.
Infosys declined 3.4%, ending the session at ₹1,268.80.
Mahindra & Mahindra dropped 3.0% to settle at ₹3,150.00.
Tata Consultancy Services slipped 2.9%, closing at ₹2,535.30.
Tech Mahindra was down 2.5% at ₹1,463.30.
Bajaj Auto declined 2.0%, ending at ₹9,600.00.
Max Healthcare Institute fell 1.9% to ₹1,001.00.
HDFC Life Insurance dropped 1.6%, closing at ₹604.20.
HDFC Bank slipped 1.5% to ₹799.40.
Apollo Hospitals Enterprise declined 1.5%, ending at ₹7,628.50.
IT stocks accounted for a significant portion of the decline, contributing to the broader weakness in the index. Other sectors such as banking, healthcare, and automobiles also saw mild to moderate selling pressure during the session.
