Sonu Nigam On Asha Bhosle: Well-known singer Sonu Nigam recently remembered his special moments spent with great singer Asha Bhosle through an emotional video. In the video shared on his Instagram account, Sonu Nigam told that he first met Asha Bhosle in 1996. This occasion was of a concert organized during the wedding of Bharat Bhai Shah’s son. He recalled, “That was my first concert with her. She had a sore throat, she told me that you will sing with me. She also said that maybe she would not be able to sing, but when she came on stage, she sang with full force. She was such a great artist that she did not need me, but her dedication and professionalism was amazing.” Sonu Nigam described Asha Bhosle as an “icon of inspiration” and said that her dedication is an example for every artist.

US tour and personal engagement

Sonu Nigam also shared an interesting anecdote from America tour in 1996. Amit Kumar and Asha Bhosle were also with him in this tour.
She told, “She had a heel spur on her foot, due to which she was facing difficulty in standing. My mother had also had such a problem, so I knew how to treat it. I pressed her feet and she got relief within a few days. Later, she kept reminding me about this for many years.”

Memories of lentils and rice in Vancouver

While sharing another lovely incident, Sonu told that one day in Vancouver, Asha Bhosle herself had prepared dal and rice for him. He said, “She asked me, would you like to eat rice? I said yes. Then she cooked the food herself. It was a privilege for us that such a great artiste fed us with her own hands.”

Sonu’s thoughts on his departure

On the death of Asha Bhosle, Sonu Nigam said that her life was so complete and inspiring that it is not right to just mourn her demise.
Sonu Nigam said, “She worked till the age of 92, remained relevant till the last moment. Such a life is the dream of every artist. So I think there is definitely sadness in her passing, but it should be seen as a celebration.”
