Redmi Buds 8: 44 hours long lasting earbuds launched, multi-device support with 50dB ANC

Redmi has expanded its audio device lineup by launching the new Redmi Buds 8. These have great features like Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), 11mm dynamic drivers, Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity and LHDC audio codec support.

The new True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earphones also get Hi-Res Audio wireless certification, multi-device connectivity, and AI-backed call noise reduction. Let us now look at their price and other features.

Redmi Buds 8 price, color options
The newly launched Redmi Buds 8 are priced at CNY 229 (approximately Rs 3,100). These are available in Cyan, Dusk Black and White color options on the Xiaomi China website.

Features, specifications of Redmi Buds 8
Redmi Buds 8 have 11mm dynamic drivers. The earphones support a frequency response range of 20Hz to 40kHz and come with Hi-Res Audio wireless certification. They also support LHDC along with SBC and AAC codecs, providing high-quality wireless audio transmission.

Redmi’s Buds 8 feature up to 50dB of ANC, as well as a three-microphone setup with AI call noise reduction to reduce wind noise at speeds up to 12m/s and make calls clear. Users can choose from multiple ANC modes, including Depth, Balanced, and Light modes, as well as an Adaptive mode. The earbuds also have three transparency modes, including Standard, Vocal Enhancement, and Environmental Enhancement.

Redmi Buds 8 support Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity and offer a working range of up to 10 meters in open environments. They also allow dual device pairing, audio sharing, and easy switching between connected devices. Extra features include support for the Xiaomi Headphones app for controls and customization, as well as gesture-based controls like one-touch photo capture.

Each Redmi Buds 8 earbud houses a 54mAh battery, while the charging case houses a 475mAh battery. The company claims that a single charge without ANC provides up to 11 hours of playback and a total of up to 44 hours of battery life with the charging case. With ANC enabled, the earbuds are claimed to last up to 6.5 hours on a single charge and up to 28 hours with the case. Charging on the case is supported via a USB Type-C port.

Redmi Buds 8 earphones come with IP54 rating to protect against dust and splashes. Each earbud weighs approximately 5g, while the total weight with the charging case is approximately 44.5g.
