New Delhi, 23 April 2026: Abhishek Sharma’s explosive innings was seen in the 31st match of IPL 2026, in which he scored his second IPL century. In this match against Delhi Capitals, Abhishek scored an unbeaten 135 runs in 68 balls. Abhishek has overtaken West Indies’ Chris Gayle, who is known as the “Universe Boss”, in the record-setting list.
Abhishek Sharma hit 10 sixes and the same number of fours in the inning of 135 runs. He defeated every bowler of Delhi Capitals. Six bowlers from DC bowled, all of them gave runs at an economy rate of more than 10. Kuldeep gave 30 runs in two overs, Mukesh Kumar gave 53 runs in four overs and Nitish Rana gave 55 runs in four overs.
Abhishek left Gayle behind
Abhishek Sharma has become the batsman who scored the highest 130 runs in T20I. This is his fourth time he has done this. Earlier, he had scored 141 runs against Punjab Kings in 2025, which is his highest score in IPL. He has left behind Chris Gayle and Aaron Finch, who have done this thrice each.

Abhishek Sharma played a brilliant inning of 135 runs against England on February 2, 2025, in which he hit 13 sixes and 7 fours. This is the highest score made by an Indian in T20 international matches.
Then he scored 141 runs against Punjab Kings in IPL 2026, which was his highest run-scoring innings in IPL history. He hit 14 fours and 10 sixes in this inning of 55 balls.
Abhishek Sharma, playing for Punjab in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, had scored 148 runs against Bengal. He hit 16 sixes in this innings of 52 balls.
Last Tuesday, Abhishek Sharma scored 135 runs against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026. This was the fourth time that he had scored more than 130 runs in T20 cricket. He became the first batsman to do so.
