When will flights fly from Noida Airport, how many cities will it connect, got the answer
Noida International Airport, which has been completed in Jewar, Greater Noida, is now moving towards starting flight operations soon. In the initial phase, preparations are being made rapidly to connect about 17 major cities of the country, which is expected to significantly expand air connectivity in North India.
After the recent high-level meeting, there have been indications that if all the necessary approvals are received on time, domestic flight services can be started by the end of next month. Airlines companies have also intensified preparations related to route planning and operations.
Domestic flights planned for 17 cities
Airlines companies have prepared a proposal to start 17 domestic routes from Jewar Airport in the first phase. However, the final decision on which cities will be included is still pending. Officials have been instructed to decide the route network as soon as possible and activate the ticket booking system, so that passengers can get convenience as soon as operations start.
Security clearance became the biggest challenge
The most important hurdle in airport operations is regarding security related approvals. The process of clearing the objections of the Home Ministry for final permission from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is going on. Meanwhile, it is also being discussed that under the security standards, the appointment of an Indian officer to the top post of the airport is being considered.
Expansion and future plans
In the recent meeting of Yamuna International Airport Limited, important decisions were also taken on the expansion of the airport. There is a plan to build 25 new aircraft stands in the next two years, on which about Rs 300 crore will be spent. At present 28 stands and 10 aerobridges have been prepared here.
Current status of the project
About 1334 hectares of area has been developed in the first phase, which includes a 3900 meter long runway, modern terminal, air traffic control system and cargo facilities. The construction work of the international terminal is still going on. If all the security clearances are received on time, it is considered possible to start domestic flights from Jewar Airport by the end of May. This project has the potential to give new momentum to the air network of North India.
