UPI payments without PIN: If you often forget your UPI PIN while making payments, then now there is good news for you. To further simplify digital transactions, BHIM app has introduced a new feature of biometric authentication. After this update, users will be able to make payments easily even without entering the PIN.
Transaction without PIN up to Rs 5000
Under this new feature, BHIM app users can complete UPI transactions up to Rs 5,000 through fingerprint or face recognition. This means that now there will be no need to enter PIN again and again for small payments. However, if the transaction amount is more than Rs 5,000, then it will be mandatory to enter UPI PIN for security reasons.
Important things to know before use
To avail this feature, your smartphone must have fingerprint or face unlock feature and it must be already set. If this feature is not available on your device or you have not activated it, you will not be able to use this feature. Also, biometric authentication will have to be turned on manually by going to the settings of the BHIM app, as it is not active by default. Keep in mind that this facility will be applicable only on transactions up to Rs 5,000.
