Trump used to earn money by selling citizenship Gold Card Visa flopped in just 4 months, only 1 person got approval
Trump Gold Card Visa Flopped: A big update has come out in America regarding President Donald Trump’s Gold Card Visa Scheme. More than four months have passed since this scheme started, but till now only one person has got its approval. US Commerce Minister Howard Lutnick gave this information in the parliamentary committee meeting on Thursday.
Under this scheme, any foreign citizen can live and work legally in America by investing at least 1 million dollars (about Rs 9.4 crore). Donald Trump had talked about replacing the old EB-5 visa program, in which visas were available on investment and job creation. Initially, Trump had quoted the cost of the plan as $5 million and claimed that it would bring rich and talented people from all over the world to America.
Only one person approved in four months
However, with only one person getting approval in four months, questions are being raised on the plan. Lutnick said hundreds of people have applied and are being vetted. He stressed that the government is carefully examining every application so that no mistakes are made. Apart from the application fee, an additional fee of $15,000 is also charged, and this visa can further open the way to US citizenship.
The government has created a special website for the gold card, which features American symbols such as the Statue of Liberty and the Bald Eagle. Apart from this, there is a plan to introduce a Trump Platinum Card worth 5 million dollars in the future, due to which you will not have to pay tax on foreign income after staying in America for 270 days.
Earning was estimated at 1 trillion dollars
The US government has estimated earnings of up to $1 trillion from this plan, which can help balance the country’s budget. At present, America has a debt of 31.3 trillion dollars (about Rs 261 lakh crore) and this year there is an estimated budget deficit of about 2 trillion dollars.
