This feature allows prepaid users of major telecom operators like Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea to recharge directly within the app.

A new ‘Rupee’ icon has been added, allowing users to avail payment services like mobile recharge, UPI transfer and metro ticket booking in select cities.

This feature is gradually becoming available to everyone and will soon be available to both Android and iOS users across the country.

How to recharge your mobile through WhatsApp

Open WhatsApp and tap on the ‘Rupee’ icon.

Select the option of ‘Mobile Prepaid Recharge’.

Enter the mobile number (yours or someone else’s).

Choose the right telecom operator and view the available plans.

Choose any one right recharge plan.

Complete the payment using UPI, debit card or credit card.

Once the payment is complete, you will receive a confirmation and the payment information will be saved in the ‘History’ section.
