After IPL, Mustafizur Rahman is now out of PSL 2026, BCB took this decision!
New Delhi: Bangladesh Cricket Board has withdrawn fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman from the remaining matches of Pakistan Super League 2026. The board has withdrawn the no objection certificate issued earlier to Mustafizur on medical grounds. Mustafizur joined Lahore Qalandars after his release from the Kolkata Knight Riders squad in IPL 2026 and took six wickets in five matches.
Earlier, BCB had shown a tough stance after being released from KKR. Bangladesh had refused to send a team to India for the T20 World Cup, after which the ICC dropped it from the World Cup and gave place to Scotland. Now in PSL also the board has taken a strict decision regarding Mustafizur and Nahid Rana.
Decision taken after medical examination
Bangladesh Cricket Board issued a statement on Thursday (23 April 2026) informing about the withdrawal of Mustafizur Rahman’s NOC. This decision was taken on the basis of his medical review after the third ODI against New Zealand.
“The condition of national team fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has been reviewed by the team medical staff after the conclusion of the third ODI against New Zealand. He will undergo an immediate scan for further investigation, after which he will begin a rehabilitation program under the supervision of the BCB medical team. The NOC previously issued to Mustafizur has been withdrawn. Therefore, he will not be able to participate in the remaining matches of PSL 2026,” BCB said in a statement.

Nahid Rana also did not get NOC
It is noteworthy that BCB confirmed in another decision that young fast bowler Nahid Rana will also not be released for PSL 2026. This step has been taken with the aim of giving them enough time to prepare for the Test series against Pakistan next month.
