Gauhati High Court’s Strict Remarks On Pawan Khera: Pawan Khera is required to be detained and interrogated, he dragged an innocent woman into controversy, strict remarks from Gauhati High Court.

New Delhi. Gauhati High Court made very strong remarks while refusing to grant anticipatory bail to Congress leader Pawan Kheda. Justice Parthivjyoti Saikia said that Pawan Kheda dragged an innocent woman into a controversy to take political advantage, this is not just a case of defamation, his custodial interrogation is necessary. The court said that if Pawan Khera had only made allegations against Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, it would have been called political rhetoric, but he dragged an innocent woman into the controversy.

The court said, Kheda unnecessarily dragged the name of Assam CM’s wife Riniki Bhuyan into the controversy even though she is not a woman in politics. Justice Saikia said that Pawan Kheda has not yet proved his allegations against Riniki Bhuiyan. Kheda had alleged that the Assam CM’s wife had three passports and undeclared assets abroad. Riniki Bhuiyan had filed a criminal case against Kheda on charges of defamation, forgery and criminal conspiracy.

On Pawan Kheda’s anticipatory bail plea being rejected by the Gauhati High Court, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, I do not want to comment on this at the moment because the Model Code of Conduct is in force. Whatever the outcome of the case is, it completely depends on the Assam Police. If I come back to power, I will review the case only after May 4. In this matter, BJP’s national spokesperson Nalin Kohli says that Pawan Kheda is a senior politician. It was expected from him that he would investigate whether the documents on the basis of which he was making such allegations were really solid evidence but it was not so and that is why Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his wife immediately lodged an FIR.
