Kejriwal’s new residence, shifted to government bungalow in Lodhi Estate with family

digital desk- A big development was seen in Delhi politics on Friday. On one hand, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal shifted to a new government bungalow, while on the other hand, the party got a big shock when leaders close to him joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to the information, the Central Government has allotted Type-7 government bungalow to Kejriwal at number 95 in Lodhi Estate, VVIP area of Delhi. On Friday, Kejriwal shifted to this new residence with his family. While sharing this information on social media platform Kejriwal wrote that the Central Government has given him this bungalow in view of his position as the National Convenor of Aam Aadmi Party and under the order of the court. It is noteworthy that this bungalow was allotted only in October last year, after which discussions were going on regarding its shifting.

Kejriwal was living in the government bungalow of MP Ashok Mittal since September 2024.

Earlier, while being the Chief Minister, Kejriwal used to live in the government residence on Flag Staff Road, Civil Lines. After leaving office in September 2024, he was living in the government bungalow allotted to AAP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Kumar Mittal. The interesting thing is that on the day Kejriwal shifted to the new bungalow, a major political upheaval was seen within the party. Senior AAP leaders Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal and Sandeep Pathak announced their joining BJP in a joint press conference. In the press conference, Raghav Chadha said that he has decided to join BJP along with two-thirds of AAP members in Rajya Sabha following the provisions of the Constitution. After this statement, the stir in the politics of Delhi and Punjab has intensified.

Raghav is considered very close to Kejriwal.

Political experts believe that this development is a big blow for the Aam Aadmi Party, because Raghav Chadha and Ashok Mittal are considered close to Kejriwal. In such a situation, his leaving the party points towards the ongoing movements within the organization. At the same time, opposition parties are targeting AAP regarding this entire incident, while no detailed official response has come from the party yet.
