PSL 2026: Updated Points Table, Top Run-Getters And Wicket-Takers After Match 36 — HHK vs IU
17
Islamabad United demolished Hyderabad Kingsmen to dent the latter’s playoff hopes of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 as they won by eight wickets. Having chased down 214 in the previous game against the Multan Sultans, the Kingsmen were routed for 80 in an innings lasted only 15.5 overs to sink to their heaviest defeat of their tournament.
With Islamabad United Shadab Khan electing to field first, they vindicated that decision from the outset. Richard Gleeson took the new ball and sent Maaz Sadaqat in the very first ball of the match for a golden duck. The Kingsmen lose two more wickets, including their captain Marnus Labuschagne for a single-figure score. Only Saim Ayub (12), Usman Khan (25), Kusal Perera (12) and Asif Mehmood (12) got to double figures as the total of 80 is the lowest by any team in PSL 2026. Gleeson, Shadab and Imad Wasim took three scalps each to complete a demolition job.
Although Devon Conway perished in the second ball of the innings, Sameer Minhas (27) and Mohsin Riaz (42) ensured to finish the match within seven overs to give their side a big net run-rate boost. It was fitting that the United captain hit the winning runs.
