Dialysis is a medical process in which toxic substances and excess water are removed from the body through a machine. This is done when the kidneys do not function properly.

Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD): Maharaj ji has a genetic disease called ‘Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease’. In this, small water-filled sacs (cysts) are formed in the kidneys, which gradually increase in size and destroy the healthy kidney tissues.

Premanand Maharaj has been suffering from Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) for the last 19 years, due to which both his kidneys are damaged. He is on dialysis regularly, and currently his dialysis is being done at his residence by a team of doctors from Australia. Given the condition of his kidneys, he now requires dialysis five days a week.

Kidney donation refused

Lakhs of his devotees from India and abroad (including both Hindus and Muslims) have expressed their passionate desire to donate their kidneys to Premanand Maharaj. However, Haraj ji has politely declined all the offers. Their spiritual viewpoint is that this body is suffering the fruits of one’s actions. They say that this body will keep breathing as long as Shri Radha Rani wishes and they do not want to put any other person’s body through suffering for this. Despite severe physical pain and constant dialysis, Maharaj ji walks daily, conducts satsang and guides devotees.
