At present, the rhetoric has intensified in the politics of Punjab. In fact, on the statement of ‘traitor’, Vikramjit Singh Sahni has clearly said that his motive is only to serve Punjab. At the same time, this issue has openly exposed the conflict between the leaders changing the party and the government. In fact, the controversy regarding leaders leaving Aam Aadmi Party and joining other parties increased when party workers demonstrated outside the houses of some Rajya Sabha MPs.

During this, CM Bhagwant Mann called such leaders ‘traitors’. In response to this, Vikramjit Singh Sahni said that he has not betrayed Punjab or Punjabis, but was serving earlier also and will do 10 times more now.

New turn in Punjab politics

This whole matter has brought a new twist in the politics of Punjab. In fact, the leaders who changed the party say that their decision was not taken personally but for the development of the state. Vikramjit Singh Sahni especially raised the issues of employment, skill development and farmers in his statement. He said that his priority is to provide employment to the youth of Punjab and keep them away from drugs. He also said that talks have been held with the leaders of the Center for skill development and agricultural reform so that new opportunities can be created in the state.

Vikramjit Singh Sahni does not agree with the word ‘traitor’

On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party supporters are justifying CM Bhagwant Mann’s statement. In fact, he says that if a leader elected with the trust of the public leaves the party midway, it can be considered a betrayal to the public. This is the reason why resentment is also being seen among the workers. However, Vikramjit Singh Sahni clearly said that he respects the post of CM but does not agree with the word ‘traitor’. He also said that the people of Punjab are wise and will decide for themselves in the upcoming elections.
