Kanpur. A massive fire broke out in a 6-storey building in Kanpur’s busiest market Birhana Road late Saturday night, causing chaos in the area. According to preliminary information, the fire started from a short circuit and quickly spread to the mobile accessories warehouse.
The flames were so strong that they reached the upper floors of the building, where many families live. Many people got trapped inside during the fire, which caused panic on the spot and people nearby got scared.
As soon as the information was received, fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and efforts to extinguish the fire were started. Relief and rescue work is going on, while efforts are being made to rescue the trapped people safely.
It is being told that there is a possibility of loss worth crores of rupees in this accident. At present the exact cause of the fire is being investigated.
