As the team was leaving their hotel, a video that quickly went viral on social media showed a female fan briefly grabbing Sharma’s hand in a crowded area. The moment, though short, drew strong reactions online, with many users calling the act inappropriate and raising concerns about personal boundaries.

In the clip, Sharma is seen walking through a group of fans when the woman suddenly pulls his hand towards her. Security personnel stepped in immediately to handle the situation. The cricketer appeared visibly startled by the unexpected interaction.

Following the video’s circulation, several social media users criticised the behaviour, describing it as harassment and emphasising the importance of respecting boundaries. Some also noted that reactions might have been far more severe if a male fan had acted similarly with a female cricketer.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad went on to register a five-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in their IPL 2026 encounter.
