Delhi Airport fire News : New Delhi : A major accident has occurred at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport in the early hours of Sunday morning. A shocking incident came to light when a Swiss Airlines flight to Zurich in Switzerland caught fire while taking off. (Delhi News) a major plane crash due to this pre-flight fire (Plane Accident) avoided. Panic spread among the passengers due to this fire. There were 228 passengers and four children on board. Six passengers were injured in this incident.

According to media reports, the Airbus A330 aircraft, Flight LX 147, was on the runway ready for takeoff at around 1:08 am. Suddenly, one of its engines shuts down and catches fire. Realizing the situation, the pilot immediately aborted the flight and a major accident was averted.

After the incident, all the passengers were safely evacuated with the help of emergency slides. According to officials, there were 228 passengers and four children on board. Chaos ensued at the airport, but the situation was soon brought under control thanks to the prompt action of the security forces and the fire brigade.

Emergency declared at Delhi Airport

The Delhi airport administration has reacted to the incident. Delhi Airport said, “Early today, a full emergency was declared in respect of Swiss International Airlines flight LX 147 (DEL-ZRH) on runway 28/10 at Delhi Airport. All prescribed safety procedures were immediately implemented and passengers were safely evacuated. Airport operations were unaffected.” This information has been given by the airport administration.
