What is the story of Kedarnath Dham related to Pandavas?
According to religious legends, the war between the Pandavas and the Kauravas had ended, in which the Pandavas had won. A conversation was taking place between Yudhishthir and Shri Krishna. At the same time, Lord Shri Krishna had said that there was Brahma dosh on the Pandavas because they had killed their brothers. After this the Pandavas asked how to get rid of this sin. Shri Krishna said that if there is freedom from sins then one should take refuge in Lord Shiva.
The five Pandavas went to Kashi to get rid of their sins, where they came to know that Lord Shiva had left Kashi. After this the Pandavas went to the Himalayas, where after seeing the Pandavas, Lord Shiva took the form of a bull and hid among the herd of animals. Meanwhile, Bhima recognized Lord Shiva in the herd of bulls. After this Bhima held the back of the bull. Seeing this devotion of the Pandavas, Lord Shiva became pleased and freed the Pandavas from their sins.

Why is the Shivalinga of Kedarnath in a triangular shape?
According to mythology, when Bhima captured the bull, the bull’s head got separated from the body. Lord Shiva resided in that torso. The bull’s torso was triangular in shape, that is why the Shivalinga of Kedarnath Dham is triangular in shape. Pandavas used to worship this Shivling together. After some time, this place became famous all over the world by the name of Kedarnath Dham.
How to go to Kedarnath Dham?
To go to Kedarnath Dham, first go to Haridwar from your state. After reaching Haridwar, reach Sonprayag by bus or taxi. From Sonprayag go to Gaurikund by bus or private taxi. After this you will have to walk 16 to 17 kilometers, then you will be able to travel to Kedarnath.
