8th Pay Commission: Luck of government employees will shine! Will basic salary cross ₹1 lakh? Know the new update

8th Pay Commission Latest Update: The Eighth Pay Commission constituted to increase the salary of central employees has come into action mode. The Commission has started the round of meetings. Last week, the Pay Commission had held its meeting for the first time in Dehradun and now a meeting is being held in Delhi also with the organizations of central employees. Different organizations of employees are submitting their demands to the commission. In this context, Federation of National Postal Organizations (FNPO) has also made some important demands.

Among the demands put forward by the new pay commission is to include the postman’s basic salary of Rs 1.12 lakh, fitment factor of 3.83 and Gramin Dak Sevak in the 8th Pay Commission. Apart from this, an annual increment of 6% is also a big demand. The FNPO demand covers issues related to postal assistants, sorting assistants, postmen, mail guards, civil wing, administrative offices, accounts department, marketing executives, system administrators, development officers (PLI) and others.

Demand to increase minimum salary to Rs 69,000

The Federation of National Postal Organizations has demanded to raise the minimum salary for entry-level employees to Rs 69,000. This organization has proposed this salary for multi-tasking staff employees for postal employees. It is noteworthy that under the Seventh Pay Commission, the basic salary of an entry level employee is Rs 18,000. For a postman or mail guard, FNPO has proposed to increase the basic salary from Rs 25,500 to Rs 1,12,000. These are level 5 employees. Apart from this, it has also been suggested to merge Level 2 and 3, and Level 8, 9 and 10.

Proposal to increase fitment factor to 3.83

FNPO has proposed a fitment factor of 3.83 for postal employees of all cadres. The fitment factor in the 7th Pay Commission was 2.57. Fitment factor 3.83 means that in a new pay commission, the basic pay of an employee or the basic pension of a pensioner will be multiplied by 3.83. The Postal Employees Organization has proposed an increment of 6%. Currently under the 7th Pay Commission, employees get an increment of 3% on their basic salary.

Demand for at least 5 promotions

FNPO argues that 6th pay commission Ever since, the increment is stuck at 3% of the basic pay. FNPO says that even after adding dearness allowance, this rate does not significantly increase real income. FNPO has demanded at least 5 promotions for all postal employees during their service period.
