Breaking News Today Live: PM Modi is going to participate in many big programs during his visit to Sikkim today i.e. on 28th April. He will begin his tour at the Gangtok Orchidarium, which has now been transformed into a modern Orchid Experience Center to provide global recognition to the state’s unique biodiversity and rare flowers. After this the Prime Minister will reach Paljor Stadium, where the closing program of the Golden Jubilee celebrations will be held. On this occasion, he will launch many new projects and will also address the people. To strengthen the health facilities, the foundation of a 100-bed Ayurveda hospital will be laid in Yangang. At the same time, the 30-bed Sowa Rigpa Hospital prepared in NIT Deorali will be dedicated to the public.
Many important steps will also be taken on the education front. The new permanent campus of Sikkim University along with the administrative building of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose University of Excellence, Helen Lepcha Medical College and Dentum Professional College will be inaugurated. Apart from this, projects like Model Residential School, New Degree College and Math Hostel-cum Classroom Building will be started to promote education in rural and remote areas. Also, IT facilities in 160 schools will be upgraded. This tour is also important from connectivity point of view. Two new steel arch bridges will be built over the Teesta river, while the Bardhang-Namchi-Kichudumra road will be upgraded to further ease traffic.
