What is the matter?
According to the information, this case is from Dianali village of Patna area of Keonjhar district. 50-year-old Jitu Munda, who lives here, wanted to withdraw money from his sister’s bank account after her death. His sister Kalra Munda died due to illness on 26 January 2026. It is being told that he had earned around Rs 19 thousand by selling cattle in his lifetime, which he deposited in a local branch of Odisha Gramya Bank. After the death of his sister, Jitu Munda was his only support and family member. In such a situation, he reached the bank a few days ago and tried to withdraw money. But bank officials reportedly refused the withdrawal.
A tribal man was seen carrying his deceased sister’s skeleton to the bank to withdraw money from her account, claiming to be her heir, in Odisha’s Keonjhar district, on April 27.

Jitu went to the bank several times, but every time he was told to bring the account holder along. He repeatedly explained that his sister was no more in this world, but the bank employees did not listen to him. Being illiterate, he could not even submit the necessary documents, which further increased his problems.
Shocking step taken in frustration
Being continuously troubled, Jitu took such a step that everyone was surprised to hear it. He dug his sister’s grave and took out her skeleton and wrapped it in a sheet. Then he placed her on his shoulder and walked about 3 kilometers to the bank, so that he could show the employees that his sister was no longer alive.

commotion outside the bank
After reaching the bank, Jitu staged a protest by keeping the skeleton outside and demanded money. This incident created a stir there. He sat there for several hours and remained adamant on his demand.

Police and administration action
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and after convincing Jeetu, he was removed from there. Later the skeleton was reburied. Officials said that Jeetu was not aware of the nominee and the legal process. Now the administration has assured him of help in getting the money.
