Banaras Water Fountain Heatwave: The scorching heat of April 2026 in Banaras, Uttar Pradesh has increased the problems of the people. After the temperature reaches above 40 degrees Celsius, the administration has made special arrangements to provide relief.

Japanese technology based mist cooling systems and water fountains have been installed in the crowded areas of the city. With these arrangements, local people, devotees and tourists coming from outside are getting respite from the heat. The administration says that as the heat increases, more such steps can also be taken.

Mist cooling system installed in Banaras market

Mist fans have been installed around the most crowded Godaulia Market, Dashashwamedh Road and Ganga Dwar. These machines emit a light shower of water, due to which the surrounding temperature is felt lower and people feel cool.

Apart from this, German hangers, awnings, coolers and mist fans have been installed for the devotees in Kashi Vishwanath Dham. People standing in the queue in the temple premises are getting a lot of relief from this.

Tourists praised these arrangements

The work of installing green curtains (green sheets) has also been started in other busy areas of the city like Maldahiya, Lanka and Chaukaghat intersections, so that the pedestrians can be protected from the scorching sun.

Local people say that this step of the administration is very useful and has brought relief in everyday life. Tourists have also praised these arrangements. Amidst the scorching heat, this initiative has come as a big relief for the people.
