Big ‘U-Turn’ of that IAS of UP! The one who said- ‘Not getting work, resign’, now reversed the decision
2023 batch IAS officer Rinku Singh Rahi, who has been creating a stir in the administrative corridors of Uttar Pradesh for the last few days, has finally withdrawn his resignation. The post for which lakhs of youth work day and night to get it, was rejected by Rinku Singh saying that “something else is going on in the system.” But now this whole story has a filmy twist. Rahi Saheb has withdrawn his ‘technical resignation’, due to which the question has arisen that what happened behind closed doors that Rahi agreed to resign?
Why did this whole controversy break out?
Rinku Singh Rahi had sent his resignation to the President and DoPT on March 26 this year. As soon as this letter went viral on social media on March 30, there was a stir from the government to the government. Rahi had made very serious and stinging allegations in his letter. He had written that a different system is working parallel to the constitutional system in the country.
Sources say that Rahi was very unhappy with getting side posting for a long time and not getting the work as per his wish. His displeasure was so much that he had demanded that he be removed from the post of IAS and sent back to his old post i.e. Social Welfare Officer.
Quietly withdrew the resignation, now what will be the next step?
The latest update in this whole drama is that Rinku Singh Rahi has withdrawn his resignation. The thing to note is that this entire process was kept extremely confidential. At present Rahi is posted on the post of Joint Magistrate. The matter is still under consideration at the higher level of the government and it is believed that soon a major order may be issued regarding his new role. However, since withdrawing the resignation, Rinku Singh has maintained silence in front of the media.
Who is Rinku Singh Rahi? death defying officer
On hearing the name of Rinku Singh Rahi, the picture of a brave officer comes to the fore who took bullets against corruption but did not surrender. Born in an ordinary family of Aligarh, Rinku’s father used to run a flour mill. Growing up in poverty, Rinku studied from a government school and did engineering. In 2004, he cleared UPPCS and in 2009 became a social welfare officer in Muzaffarnagar. There he exposed a scholarship scam of Rs 100 crore, which did not go down well with the land mafia and the corrupt.
On 26 March 2009, there was a fatal attack on him. The attackers fired bullets at them indiscriminately. Despite being hit by seven bullets, he survived, but his jaw, one eye and ear were badly damaged. The face changed forever, but the courage became even stronger.
Become IAS after clearing UPSC, new struggle begins again
In the year 2021, Rinku Singh passed UPSC and became an IAS officer. He was posted as SDM in Shahjahanpur. An incident made a lot of headlines there, when he made a clerk do a sit-up after seeing him toileting in the open. After strong opposition from the lawyers, he himself held a public sit-in to calm the matter.
After this he was transferred to the Revenue Council, where he had no concrete work to do. After sitting idle for about 8 months and taking only salary, he resigned. Now it has to be seen whether the government gives him any big responsibility after withdrawing his resignation or this phase of struggle will continue further.
