Virat Kohli inaugurates cricket academy in RK Puram, Delhi, childhood coach makes big announcement

New Delhi: A new cricket academy was inaugurated at DPS RK Puram in New Delhi on Tuesday (28 April 2026). Virat Kohli’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma and DDCA President Rohan Jaitley praised this initiative. Both of them believe that this academy will provide future star players to the country.

Virat Kohli gave this message to the students 

On the occasion of this inauguration, Virat Kohli also gave a special message to the students. He said, “I am not in the habit of speaking in schools. I left school early because of cricket. But I understand your phase because I too have gone through the same.”

Virat Kohli told the students that school is a place to learn and become a better person. He also told that he had chosen cricket as his career in his childhood itself. Kohli said, “For me, studies came second. Cricket was everything. Where I am today is the result of that dedication.”

King of Cricket Virat Kohli asked the students to respect the environment and teachers. He told, “Teachers give a big part of their lives to you. Give them the respect and attention they deserve. Jaitley also praised Kohli’s words as special. Virat recognized his talent very early and gave it completely to him. Today he is leading world cricket.”

Virat’s coach expressed confidence! 

Let us tell you that while talking to ANI, coach Rajkumar Sharma thanked DPS RK Puram. He said, “I am very happy. DPS gave us excellent infrastructure. This is a big opportunity for young players.”

During this time, he further said that the environment here and hard work together can create a new Kohli. Sharma said, “I am sure that we will create more players like Virat for the country.” It is noteworthy that Virat had taken training at West Delhi Cricket Academy since the age of 8.
