In fact, the first meeting of the 8th Pay Commission constituted by the government to work on salary increase was held in Delhi on Tuesday. National Council-Joint Consultative Machinery (NC-JCM) Staff Side Secretary Gopal Mishra and Commission Chairperson Ranjana Prakash Desai participated in this meeting.
This meeting is also considered important because through it, the first formal dialogue has taken place between the demands of the employees and the viewpoint of the government. It is being said that on the basis of these meetings, the direction of the recommendations of the Pay Commission will be decided. Important role of fitment factor
The most important role in this entire process is the fitment factor, which decides the basic salary. In the 7th Pay Commission, the fitment factor was kept at 2.57, on the basis of which there was a big change in the salary of the employees. Now it is expected that in the 8th Pay Commission this factor may increase to 3.0 or more.
If we understand it in simple language, suppose the basic salary of an employee is Rs 18,000. By the 7th Pay Commission it had increased to around Rs 46,000. If the new fitment factor is 3.0 or more, this salary can reach Rs 50,000 or more. However, this is just an estimate and the final decision will depend on the recommendations of the commission.
Demand of employees from pay commission
Employees say that in view of inflation and cost of living, there is a need for appropriate revision in salaries and allowances. Along with this, there was also discussion about the fitment factor, which plays the most important role in the recommendations of any pay commission. In this meeting, a demand has also been made on behalf of the employees that the pensioners should also be given equal benefits, so that there is a balance between the serving and retired employees. Suggestions have been made to make the pension system more transparent and beneficial.

The discussion held between the NC-JCM staff side and the Chairperson of the Commission in the first meeting has definitely indicated that the demands of the employees are being taken seriously. If the estimates prove to be correct, then there may be a significant increase in his salary in the coming time.
