Tapsoba set to sign new deal after Leverkusen reject Premier League bid
Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly turned down a €40 million bid from the Premier League for Edmond Tapsoba, with the centre-back now set to sign a new deal.
Edmond Tapsoba has agreed a new contract with Bayer Leverkusen, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Burkina Faso international has long been a target for clubs in England, and the Italian transfer market insider reports that Die Werkself have rejected a €40 million bid for the defender from the Premier League to keep him.
Tapsoba can now look forward to a significant salary increase, reportedly taking him to the “highest level for a defender.”
The 27-year-old joined Leverkusen from Portuguese side Vitória Guimarães in January 2020.
Since then, he has developed into a key player at the back, having made 267 appearances, scoring 13 goals and providing eight assists.
