Madhya Pradesh: Pickup vehicle loaded with laborers overturns, 12 killed, 13 injured in the accident

Bhopal. A speeding pickup vehicle loaded with laborers overturned after hitting a Scorpio on Wednesday night near Chikaliya Phata of Indore Ahmedabad National Highway in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. In this accident, 12 people including two children have died, while 13 people are seriously injured. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has expressed grief over the accident.

According to the information, near Jio petrol pump at Chikaliya Phata in Tirla police station area of ​​Dhar district, at around 8.30 pm on Wednesday night, a speeding pickup vehicle went out of control and overturned three-four times and during this, it went to the other side of the road and collided with a Scorpio.

It is being told that about 35 laborers were traveling in the pickup vehicle. There was hue and cry at the spot after the accident. Passers-by and local people reached the spot and immediately started relief work and pulled out the buried people.

Many injured laborers were lying on the road, making the situation very serious and sensitive. With the help of ambulance, all the injured were taken to Dhar district hospital.

An atmosphere of chaos was created due to the arrival of a large number of injured people simultaneously in Dhar District Hospital. The condition of many of the injured who reached here is said to be critical. The team of doctors in the hospital is continuously engaged in treatment.

Emergency Medical Officer Dr. Chhatrapal Singh present in the district hospital said that all the injured who reached the spot are being treated. The injured have reached here after the pickup accident. 12 people have died in the accident. These also include 2 children.

As soon as the information was received, Tirla police station and administrative officials reached the spot. Relief and rescue operations are underway and the cause of the accident is being investigated. Duty doctor Chhatrapal Singh said that 10 people have been referred to Indore in critical condition. The number of deaths is expected to increase.

Eyewitness Shubham Sisodia told that at the time of the accident, I was present at a short distance from the spot. The Scorpio was going from Mangud towards Dhar, while the pickup vehicle was coming from Dhar towards Mangud.

During this time suddenly the tire of the pickup burst. The pickup went out of control, crossed the divider and came to the wrong side and collided with the Scorpio coming from the front and then overturned.

Dhar Superintendent of Police SP Mayank Awasthi said that the pickup vehicle was at high speed. The vehicle overturned three-four times after the driver lost control. Meanwhile, he went to the other side of the road and collided with a Scorpio. 12 people died in the accident. These also include 2 children.

At present, the deceased have not been identified. A huge crowd has gathered in the hospital. The relatives of the deceased are busy identifying the bodies outside the postmortem room. Security arrangements have also been tightened in the hospital premises.

Deepak Meda of Dhar said that two members of his family died in this accident, while one member is still missing. According to him, his sister Sunita and niece, residents of Navapura, lost their lives in the accident. Everyone was returning from work when this accident happened. There is an atmosphere of mourning in the family after the incident and the family members are in shock.

On receiving the information, Collector in-charge Abhishek Chaudhary reached the spot and said that an accident had occurred due to a speeding pickup vehicle. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police and administration team reached the spot and all the injured were immediately brought to the district hospital.

After first aid, some seriously injured patients have been referred to Indore for better treatment, while the treatment of others is continuing here. The entire team of administration, police and health department is present on the spot and continuous monitoring is being done to ensure that all the injured get the best treatment.

Besides, 108 ambulance services have also been activated. Coordination has been established with Indore district administration, the CMHO there and the health team. If needed, patients will be referred to government and private hospitals of Indore.
